Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle: Complete Review and Features

The Karcher Foam Nozzle is a foam cannon specifically made to suit Karcher devices. But is it the best option for your pressure washer? In this article, I’ll be reviewing this official Karcher item and demonstrating how to use it. So let’s get started.

At a Glance

The Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle is a cheap option that allows beginners to get started snow foaming. However, it is let down by the small capacity, lack of adjustment and relatively thin foam compared to aftermarket alternatives.

Key Features

Here are some of the key features of the Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle:

  • Plastic construction
  • One control to adjust the foam thickness
  • 600ml (22.89 oz) capacity bottle with measurements on the side
  • Compatible with all K-series pressure washers

There are two Karcher Foam Cannons available: the FJ6 and the FJC10 C. The difference is in the way you connect the nozzle to the bottle. The FJC10 C has a “quick connect” which attaches by pressing a button, the FJ6 nozzle screws into the bottle instead.

How it Works

The Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle connects directly to a Karcher pressure washer using the push and twist action, in the same way as changing any of the regular nozzles.

It has one control on the top. This can be rotated either clockwise or anti-clockwise to control the amount of foam. To get a good amount of foam, you will usually need to have it on the maximum setting.

To fill the foam spray nozzle, you simply twist the top and it will open up the lid for the FJ6 model. On the FJ10 C model, you simple click the top to open it.

You can then fill this with a mixture of snow foam and water. I recommend adding the snow foam after adding the water, to stop the solution from foaming up inside the bottle.

The Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle very simple to operate and attach, which makes it a good option for beginners looking to get into snow foaming their car.

Foam Thickness

The Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle does not produce very thick foam. If you are looking for super thick foam, then you typically will need an aftermarket foam cannon (e.g. the MJJC Foam Pro).

To get the thicker foam using a Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle:

  • Use warm water to dilute the snow foam in the bottle
  • Make sure your pressure washer is on the maximum pressure setting
  • Turn the dial on top of the bottle to maximum
  • Add a higher concentration of snow foam
  • Ensure there are no leaks in your tap or hose

Compatibility

This Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle is compatible with the Karcher K Series of pressure washers. Here is the list of compatible pressure washers.

  • K2 Compact
  • K2 Full Control
  • K2 Power Control
  • K3 Power Control
  • K4 Compact
  • K4 Full Control
  • K4 Full Control
  • K4 Power Control
  • K5 Compact

  • K7 Compact

  • K7 Smart Control

Capacity

The Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle has a capacity of 600 mL or 20.29 fluid oz. From my experience, this is enough to fully coat 1.5-2 cars. The bottle is clear and has measurements on the side making it very simple to fill with your snow foam and water solution.

Build Quality

The Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle is made from plastic. This includes the bottle itself, the attachment and the controls. Despite being made from plastic, the build quality is solid.

I used this foam lance for almost three years and used it at least 150 times in the process. It shows no signs of breaking or slowing down, and it has been dropped multiple signs and the bottle/ nozzle itself hasn’t become damaged.

Here are a couple of tips to keep it in good working order:

  • Rinse the cannon through with only water in the bottle for a minute after you’ve finished washing the car to clear the chemicals.
  • Store the bottle inside so that it isn’t subjected to freezing temperatures overnight.

It is Any Good?

So what are my overall thoughts having used this foam cannon for the best part of three years?

Pros:

  • Low cost
  • Simple to use

Cons:

  • Relatively thin foam is produced
  • Lack of adjustment in terms of spray pattern and foam thickness

Essentially, it’s a basic and inexpensive piece of equipment. If you are looking for the best prewash possible, then purchasing an aftermarket foam cannon is your best bet.

Karcher vs Aftermarket Foam Cannons

The Karcher Foam Spray Nozzle isn’t the only option if you own a Karcher Pressure Washer and want to get into snow foaming. There is a whole world of aftermarket foam cannons available which are cost-effective and produce really thick foam.

Here’s a comparison between the Karcher foam cannon and the aftermarket options available.
