There are so many different choices when it comes to paint protection. Before even thinking about the individual products and brands, you need to choose between waxes, sealants, ceramic coatings, and spray sealants.

Here are links to my favourite paint protection products.

G3 Professional Super Gloss Paste Wax

Some people love waxes and others find them too time-consuming, however I’m in the first camp especially in summer.

This is a ridiculously easy wax to apply that I actively look forward to using and doesn’t make the waxing process feel like a chore at all. It offers a super slick and glossy finish with outstanding water behaviour. The only downside is that it needs reapplying every 1-2 months, but it’s so easy to use that it doesn’t bother me at all.

Garage Therapy /Two: Sigma

This isn’t the most long-lasting sealant, but is perfect for those who want something super glossy and slick. It lasts around 6-8 weeks from my experience but is quick to apply so I really don’t mind topping it up fairly frequently.

I can be used on its own or in combination with the GT Ceramic Sealant (a longer-lasting sealant) to top it up and keep the performance levels consistent.

Yum Foam+

It’s a spray and rinse sealant so it’s very quick to apply, making it perfect for colder days or just when I’m in a rush.

This product can be used in two ways:

  1. Applied using a foam cannon (1:9 dilution), and rinsed immediately
  2. Applied using a spray bottle (1:9 dilution), and rinsed immediately

I personally find the foam cannon application method to be much more effective.

What I find quite unique about this particular product is that it adds a lot more gloss than is typical compared to other products I’ve tried in this category. Durability wise, it lasts around 8 weeks before it needs topping up.

P&S Paint Gloss

I’ve started using this product more recently and have been very impressed with how easy it is to use. You simply spray and wipe, meaning it’s possible to apply it to an entire car in around 5-10 minutes.

It’s not a very durable product and will only last a couple of weeks, however it does a great job at topping up the protection and adding a boat load of gloss and slickness to boost the finish.

Pyramid Car Care UBV New Era Ceramic Coating

I applied this 3-year coating to a new car a few months ago and have been very impressed with the performance. It offers outstanding water behaviour, self-cleaning ability and slickness. Ceramic coatings do require more prep before application, but I found this very easy to use once the surface was ready. It also has a short drying time so it can be applied outdoors.
